Hello to all AusKick Surf Coast Suns parents, and thank you for registering your child for 2023.
This message is a reminder that our first Auskick Season at Polwarth Oval at the Banyul-Warri Fields Sporting Precinct will be on Friday 28 April from 5-6 p.m. Please find attached a map showing the location that each group will be positioned around the Oval.
Our season will run each Friday at least until 14 July 2022 (with a 2 week break for school holidays from Saturday 24 June – Sunday 9 July), and may extend a few extra weeks if rain causes us to cancel sessions.
Wet-weather plan: If there is mist or light rain then we still plan to play, and so we encourage both players and parents to bring wet-weather gear to each session.
As at today’s date, year we have 142 registered participants. As in previous years, we will have separate groups for Girls (all ages); Kindy boys; Prep boys; and, Grade 1+ boys. Auskick isn’t just a program for kids - it’s about families on the field together, having fun learning and celebrating those footy ‘firsts’ with their Auskickers. As for some basic rules for kids, there is ‘no-tackling and have lots of fun’. As for myself, this is my 2nd season as the volunteer Auskick Coordinator at the Suns, with two young children playing the Prep age group this year.
Parent assistance
Auskick needs your help to run activities - for your kids and others. As such, we aim to develop a roster in coming weeks for which each family will be required to help run two activities during the season. Three days prior to your rostered event we will send you an email with video links for your scheduled activities, and for which I will set-up all equipment for you on the day. If you can’t attend on your scheduled day, please email admin@surfcoastsuns.com and we will find a suitable day for you.
