2020 Season Refund Communication

Thank you for your support, understanding and patience at this challenging time.

As you are aware, due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the related restrictions imposed by the Federal and State Governments in response, AFL Barwon has announced the cancellation of the 2020 season. As such, you are entitled to compensation in respect of the benefits of your membership with our Club that now cannot be provided.

Being a junior club run by volunteers we are aiming to reduce the amount of administration by all to ensure we can close this season off as quickly and tidily as possible.

To date the club has incurred to following expenses to get the club running again, regardless of the number of games played in the season;

• Club/player registration fees

• Player Registration Packs

• Insurance

• Umpiring

• Facility expenses (Hire, Lighting)

• Equipment purchases (Match Day, Training).

• Supplies to meet COVID requirements

As such we are not in a position to provide a full refund.

With Regards to Football, We have two options in respect of your 2020 registration:

1. Pledge (i.e. unconditionally donating) your registration fees to the Club. By pledging you would be notifying us that you are content for the Club to retain the fees previously paid by you to the Club for the 2020 season.

2. Refund: If your preference is to receive a cash refund we can arrange a $100 refund (via direct transfer).

With Regards to Netball, We have three options in respect of your 2020 registration:

1. Summer Competition: If you are interested in playing in the AFL Barwon Summer Competition, we will roll your winter fees over and you may participate with no additional fees.

2. Pledge (i.e. unconditionally donating) your registration fees to the Club. By pledging you would be notifying us that you are content for the Club to retain the fees previously paid by you to the Club for the 2020 season.

3. Refund: If your preference is to receive a cash refund we can arrange a $100 refund (via direct transfer).

Note: all NetSetGo and VNA transactions will be handled by Netball Victoria which you should have already been notified about, all AusKick transactions are handled by Football Victoria. The club does not hold any of these fees.

What do you need to do next? If you would like to roll your Netball membership into a Summer competition, or would like to pledge your Football or Netball membership, there is nothing to do right now. If you would like to explore a refund, please respond by email with a completed Refund form (emailed to all members) to admin@surfcoastsuns.com by 15th September 2020. If you miss the deadline and want to discuss other options, please contact admin@surfcoastsuns.com.
