2022 Committee Appointed

On Tuesday November 9th, the 2022 Surf Coast Suns committee was nominated and appointed. With this we have Three new committee members.

Scott Cayzer joins as Club Secretary. Scott has two sons playing football, and been coaching the under 9s for the past two seasons.

Mel Maycock was appointed Netball Coordinator after a number of years coaching Netball. Mel has a daughter playing Netball and a Son playing Football. Mel has been involved in the club for the past 5 years.

Kylie Roberts comes to the committee in a Netball Development Role. Kylie has been involved Netball coaching and NetSetGo where her daughter is learning to love the game. She also championed the 'Girl in Charge' program which the club Sponsored with the Victoria Police and Surf Coast Secondary.

We do still have one vacant position in that of our AusKick Coordinator. If this role is of interest to you and you would like to get involved with how your club is being run, please contact admin@surfcoastsuns.com for more information.

Departing the committee after two seasons are Jo Murphy (Netball) and Katherine Ferrie (Secretary). Both Jo and Katherine have done terrific work to grow the club and create the environment we enjoy today.

Our Treasurer Michelle McClure is also stepping down after 3 years. Michelle has done a mountain of work to place the club in a strong financial position, especially over the COVID period. Michelle implemented an accounting package to get us off spreadsheets and brought EFTPOS to the club. Joel Bett will be taking over from Michelle.

Amber Potter also resigned from the committee after 5 years. When Amber took over the Netball program it was very small and we were struggling for coaches and support. She has recruited an array of good people into the club which allows her to hand over Netball in a much better position than when she took it over. Some key achievements through her time was the lobbying and implementation of the clubs indigenous netball dresses, plus promoting an all abilities Netball team. As such Amber leaves quite a gap on the committee, and will be filled by multiple seats.
