How Much Does it Cost?

2022 Club registration fees across both sports and all age groups is $150.

New players will need either Football Shorts which are $40 or a Netball dress which is $60.

Netballers also need to pay VNA which is $60 for juniors. This is valid for the Winter and following summer season.

How do know what age group my child in and the cut offs?

In U9 football the youngest we can register a player is if they turn 7 by April 30th.

For Football and Netball the age is done by calendar year. For example, in football if you turn 9 in 2022, you are under 9’s. If you turn 13 in 2022 you are U14’s. If you turn 15 in 2022 you are U16’s. For Netball, the same applies, only the age groups are U11. U13, U15 and U17.

Can my child be in the same team as their friends?

We do our best to ensure friends are kept together. We do need your help with this and raise the friendship link as early as possible with the coaches so as we are aware and can do our best to accommodate.

The only circumstance where this may not be possible is if we find out too late and the teams are already at capacity.

What if my child doesn’t have any ability or if they are a beginner?

Our policy at the Suns is that everyone plays. We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to play and fall in love with sport, staying happy and active. We believe that regardless of ability there is place for them in one of our teams, as long as everyone brings along their enthusiasm.

Are there try outs?

The Surf Coast Suns do not run try outs. At the start of the season we may run some scratch matches to ensure teams are balanced and allow the coaches to group or grade the teams accordingly.

Do we have capacity and wait lists?

I’d love to say that we have capacity for everyone, however if we do get to the point that all our teams are full and we do not have an option to add another team then we will need to employ wait lists. I am hoping in 2022 we have the support and volunteers to ensure we can enter as many teams as needed to give everyone a game.

The Key here is to enroll as early as possible which helps with our planning.

Where is the game, who are we playing, what time and what Court/Oval

Don’t get caught out not knowing where you need to be. Netball Connect is a app for all types of phones. You can download it, add your team and track what is going on week to week before you leave the house.

Similarly, we have GameDay for all football teams. (NB this app may change in 2022 as a new system is being released.)

How and where do we get uniforms?

Unfortunately, the Suns do not have a shop as such however we make every effort to ensure everyone is ready to go for round 1.

Prior to season start we will have a Club Day where Netball Dresses and Football Shorts can be sized and purchased.

An online store will be available very soon which will allow all merchandise to be purased and distributed by the club, including players registration packs which are being finalised.

Football Jumpers will be presented prior to round 1, numbers will vary based on the size of the jumpers. These jumpers are returned to the club at the end of the season.

How do I register?

All registrations are done online via the links at the bottom of our homepage surfcoastsuns.com

Depending on which sport you would like, select the register for football, netball, AusKick or NetSetGo.

At the moment, Netball and NetSetGo registration are not open for Winter, these will open in the coming week.

Do the Suns have club rooms?

The Suns home grounds are the Polwarth and Grenville ovals, while our Netball Courts are the Narrodya Courts.

Our change rooms are in the Grant Pavilion where we have access to a Canteen and storage shed, plus can access the shared space in this facility.

We currently are working with council, state and federal government to further develop the Grant Pavilion which will give us social rooms and more usable space.
